Site navigation, search and other operations, such as order placement, can be done solely via voice commands by integrating voice functionality with the website. This can be faster than typing and clicking on the links and more convenient, especially on small screen devices.
Below are some of the actions that can be done using voice.
1. Product search.
You can ask the site to show you a particular product if you know the product name or search for products belonging to a certain type.
Eg. You can say “Show me glasses”, “Search for glasses” or “Show Metro Wine Glass Set”.
2. Product search filter.
The system understands contexts allowing you to filter the search results.
Eg. The result of “Show me glasses” will show you all glasses. You can follow this up by saying “Wine glasses only”. This will filter the previous search result to show only wine glasses.
3. Add products to cart.
You can add certain quantities of a product to the cart.
Eg if you are on a product details page you may say “Add 2 quantity of this product to cart”.
If you know the product name then you can add the product from anywhere on the site by specifying the product name and quantity in your add-to-cart command.
4. Change item quantity in cart.
On the cart page you can modify the quantities of individual products.
5. Checkout
The entire checkout process can be done via voice commands.
a. Select saved shipping address.
You can ship to one of the already saved ship-to addresses by saying “Ship to home address” or “Select home address”.b. Select saved credit card.
Similar to ship-to address, a saved credit card can be selected for payment by saying “Pay by Visa” or “Select Visa”.c. Place order.
On the final page to place the order just say “Place order”.
