Many online retailers use Personalisation feature that is bundled with an e-commerce platform to recognize online shoppers activity. In return online shoppers expect retailers to recognize across all channels and devices they use to shop.
Information that shop up on the desktop should also show up on their mobile devices as well. Notifications or promotions that show up on the desktop should be shown on the mobile as well.
