Common Mistakes most e-commerce Companies make with Product Reviews
Product reviews help customers identify what is the product and whether is this product for me and why should I buy it. It gives a customer the right insights for the product.
Below is the list of common mistakes that companies make –
- Requesting a review before the product has arrived
Shipping can be a tricky process, so make sure you give your customer time to get the product in their home before your email hits their inbox. If you send an email to soon it creates a misconception in the minds of the customer.
- Requesting a review before customers had time to use the product
Always give customers a few weeks to use their products, before asking for a review.
There are times customers may have bought it and kept in their closet and forget to use it. Better to ask them how is their product and whether they are happy with or it not?
- Requesting a product review on every item
It sometimes silly when companies ask you for a review for every product. General products like household essentials can’t be reviewed on regular basis, it’s understood. Alternate product reviews are fine.
- Asking for a review when the customer has already made one
Setup a system to track and tag customers who have already made a review on their purchases so you don’t ask them for a review that they’ve already made.
- Offer incentives for a review
Give your customers a reason to leave a positive review. Offering them a freebie will go a long way.
