Speeding up eCommerce orders with Bulk Upload feature
In an ever-changing eCommerce world, it’s important to reduce the effort and increase the speed with which a shopper can purchase their products on the storefront. eComchain offers a unique Bulk Upload feature or Direct Item Entry feature that allows shoppers to upload a CSV file with just product or item number and quantity, as its columns. Additionally if the storefront is integrated with an ERP application, such as Oracle E-Business Suite or SAP, the bulk upload process validates the product number (in the CSV file) inventory setup in the ERP application, ensuring shopper does not request for an item that cannot be ordered and processed by the ERP application.
This feature has been extensively used by manufacturers using eComchain’s B2B eCommerce. One such manufacturer uses the bulk upload or direct item entry feature, that allows shoppers to order complex configuration of components required to build a steel structure. The CSV file that is uploaded is seamlessly validated with Oracle E-Business Suite verifying the availability and complex pricing calculations that’s displayed to the shopper before the items are added to the cart and checked out.
Once the items are validated and priced in ERP, minor changes such as comments, part marks, finish and coating and major changes like gauge and length of a steel component can be customized at the line level in a single page and added to the cart after they are reviewed by a supervisor. All these uploads can be archived, reviewed and uploaded with ease with the help of versioning of each file uploaded, which comes in handy, as the requirements for the building can change pretty quickly.
